A Princess's 1st Birthday

One month in and first post of the year... Let's just say the festive season lasted a little longer than most this year. New commitment... must blog more.

What a weekend…. Despite it being inevitable that our home town would be cut off with flooded roads, Husband, Baby and I ventured down to Brisbane this weekend for a very special birthday. My Niece, Piper, turned one and our gift to her was a dessert table that she may not remember, but will one day hopefully look back on fondly and see the love that went into creating a memorable occasion for her.

My Brother and Sister-in-Law are admirable parents and have been our first stop for parenting advice since having our baby boy nearly 8 months ago. With two gorgeous little girls (so not biased!) and both working full time, who has the time to organise a party, but these two managed to pull it all together and bring family and friends together for a beautiful day.

The theme of the day was Princess Piper’s enchanted garden party and the little loved ones all dressed up beautifully as princesses, princes, fairies, kings and gnomes. Adorable. The house was decorated with craft tables for the littlies, a playroom dreams are made of and fairy balloons and lanterns throughout the home.

Inspired by the first photo below, we created a table with a backdrop that represented fairies going through a door, weaving their way through a busy enchanted garden filled with delicious sweets, flowers, bunnies, butterflies, birds and more.

Cake and cupcakes were created by close friends of the family, with the best ingredient... love.

Sisters and Cousins... Princess's and a Gnome. Dress ups are the most fun!
